Dr. Nikos Christoforidis is a Gynaecologist specialising in infertility analysis and assisted reproductive technology at Embryolab. He graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1995.
From 1995 to 2003, he trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Great Britain, in the framework of the educational programme organised by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
From 1999, he worked as a Specialist Registrar (National Rotational Scheme) based at the University Headquarters of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Newcastle (Northern Deanery), Northeast England.
He is trained in the application of endoscopic procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological disorders, especially disorders of menstruation, endometrial adhesions, endometrial polyps and fibroids.
In 1999, he became a member of the Evidence-Based Medicine Forum at the South Tyneside District General Hospital and helped to create clinical guidelines for medical and obstetric personnel in the obstetric department.
In 2000, he obtained a Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
In 2001, he became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists: MRCOG). The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is an internationally acknowledged organisation with a high reputation and a long tradition ensuring high standards in clinical the practice of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and in promoting research and medical knowledge to trainees in the specialty.
From 2001 to 2003, he specialised in assisted reproductive technology and particularly IVF, at the Hammersmith Hospital in London, gaining extensive experience in the examination and treatment of infertile couples. The IVF Hammersmith Hospital is one of the largest IVF units of Great Britain, with a tradition in clinical and laboratory research on human reproduction. The first pre-implantation genetic diagnosis was successfully held there.
He is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
Since 2004, he has been a founding member and Manager of the Clinic Department at Embryolab. Dr. Nikos Christoforidis is co-founder of the Embryolab Academy and the international research and educational non-profit organisation.
